Phantom Ranch | Grand Canyon | Mule ride up

Phantom Ranch | Grand Canyon | Mule ride up

Playing catch up as I continue to go on adventures.

Back at the Grand Canyon for this one.

Let’s start with some photos!

Shared from Lightroom mobile (53).jpg

As soon as we got to Phantom Ranch we crashed! We got our key to our cabin and slept for a few hours before dinner. Then we showered!!! Wow a shower! It felt so good!

The legendary lemonade was very refreshing at Phantom Ranch.

Above we have our meals. We had a few nights of steak dinner. The choice when booking was steak dinner or some type of stew. Every Morning we had eggs and pancakes. For lunch we snacked on the food we brought down. Our last night there was a bonus night as we had to wait another day for our mules to be brought down so we had the employee dinner. OMG the best food I ever had. They made salmon that night! The employees take turns each night making dinner for each other. I thought that was so cool! & of course a picture of the beer that was offered down in the heart.

Here is the video of our adventure around Phantom Ranch & The Colorado River

There was so much history there to learn. One night when we were wondering around I noticed these red flowers on a tree. I was taking photos of them when someone walked by and said they were pomegranates! Turns out there used to be an orchard there! The other tree pictured above was Mama Fig!

The wildlife was amazing to witness! One night we were just sitting by our cabin watching the sunset when a family of mule deer just slowly wander through. We watched them about 10ft from us for a good 30 minutes!

The squirrels everyone warns you about when you visit Phantom Ranch. Yes they tried to steal our food everytime we ate haha.

The lizards we saw were so very colorful! I loved that one pictured above.

We got to see a blooming Agave plant! I was shook! I first saw these bloom in sedona the year before but they were all dead. I knew when I came back this last time I would see one. They bloom every 25 years!

Some photos from our hike a bit up North Kaibab & around The Colorado River.

Also pictured is The Silver & Black Bridge. Helicopters were seen carrying out supplies they used from fixing The Silver Bridge. More views in my video above.

Here is our mule ride up! I was so scared! I feel like the last few months I have been hanging out with more large animals and I am getting used to them. This mule ride, a hired photoshoot with horses + hanging with cows in Kentucky. I did not grow up around a lot of animals. Thank you city life!

I did get used to riding on my mule after about an hour. Trust kicks in & I relax. Took 5 hours to get back to the top.

Thanks for reading! Can’t believe I am still unpacking these blogs haha! Next up is my diary entries for each day hiking. XOXO
