All in mindset
We are getting a dose of what our school systems require our youth to learn.
Maybe we are being reminded just how hard spending 8 hours at school is. Teacher to teacher, class to class.
The only difference is their schooling is at home - for us to see.
Well, here we are. Something I didn’t think I would ever write.
This virus has us homebound - most for that matter.
School kids are now at home with their families and having to “homeschool.”
This is not what homeschooling looks like - at least for us.
Having my own kids pushed me into higher ways of thinking and being. Through all the research I did when they were born - a concept that I latched onto was the Montessori Theory. Maria Montessori developed an approach to learning where the key principles such as independence, following the child, and self-directed learning - supported them in each stage of growth. We decided to homeschool and I ended up taking this approach a different way.
