I picked this book up titled - The Boy Crisis and immediately I'm turned off by the title. I look for the release date and see it’s not too long ago so I decide there’s probably a reason why it repulses me - I check it out.

9 years old. I remember being 9. In Fact I would say it was a pivotal point in my childhood where I suddenly had this awareness with emotions, not just mine but more so with others.
When we hold space for a child - we open our hearts to them, listen without judgment, shame & try to keep our solutions to ourselves.
We hold them as their tears fall down their face.
We listen as anger takes the wheel and they yell and scream about what their sister did.
We don’t fix. We don’t fix. We don’t fix.
My daily challenge.
I was raised an only child. An only child! Which means I had absolutely no idea life with siblings would be like this!
Besides the obvious of having different personalities - there’s just a lot to wade through.
A LOT.
I feel like I can write a book about all the adventures we have gone through with our flocks.
Having backyard chickens + ducks is an adventure. A big adventure. Your emotions will be tested along with your mental strength.
Well, here we are. Something I didn’t think I would ever write.
This virus has us homebound - most for that matter.
School kids are now at home with their families and having to “homeschool.”
This is not what homeschooling looks like - at least for us.
I’m talking mindfulness + creating spaces which wake our senses!
Inside + outside our home
So many many articles + books written on the importance of sending our kids outside. Less screens & more play, right?
Of course, but what I’m here to share with you right here + right now, is just how simple it is to raise a nature loving child. It doesn’t require you to book four expensive plane tickets to a national park, or even require you to get into the car. If you have a patch of grass, that is enough.
I have compiled a list of my favorite parenting + homeschool books that have left me feeling inspired, kept me on track, and even brought me back from the depths of - what the heck am I doing here?
How do you make a final decision? Making decisions can be incredibly difficult when we want all the things + can see every different way we can be living life to the fullest.
Welcome! I’m Krystal & this is my first ever blog post! As someone who often changes her mind - I am so very proud, that as a family, we have continued to homeschool after seven years. I’m starting it off by sharing three values that have stuck with us throughout the years.
