Why do we homeschool?

Why do we homeschool?

I love the why!

Knowing why you do something really sets a foundation for all other activities and choices to be made going forward.

Like when we knew we were going to buy a home.

We made that choice and now we are well on our way to farming! HA OK - maybe we’re not quite there yet - but that might explain why we spend so much time raising & caring for our animals + garden planning.

So WHY do we spend so much time on those activities?

We want to be sustainable & we want community.

We want a solid foundation for our kids.

We want them to experience the simple - earth loving life.

This is also why we homeschool.

We homeschool because we made a choice. We made a choice to take responsibility for our own lives. We didn’t make the choice out of anger for the school system & we didn’t make the choice to homeschool because we knew it would be easier.

We simply made the choice to homeschool because we wanted a life worth living.

We wanted to wake up in the morning and not rush around.

We wanted connection. Deeply rooted connection with our children.

More time together than apart.

Connection + community + sustainability

We wanted the least amount of outside interference.

We didn’t want an outside force telling us how to raise our kids or what type of education we needed to provide for them.

We wanted freedom to choose what was best for each of our children.

This is our WHY.

This is what gets me up in the morning to start our chores.

This is what prompts me to spend extra time building that playhouse for them.

This is why we have spent hours clearing our land.

So if you are wondering if homeschooling is for you.

Ask yourself WHY you would choose that for your family.

Inspire yourself & look around at what you are already creating.

Ask yourself what type of environment do you want to have.

There are so many resources out there for the types of homeschooling you can choose - but honestly it’s about your WHY!

Find your why and go for it!

XOXO
